Before you can print a label on your BBP®31 Sign and Label Printer, you’ll need to design the label you want to print. The BBP®31 Printer gives you several flexible and easy options to create these labels. Though you can create labels on your PC and then send them to the printer, this demo will show you how easy it is to create labels directly on the stand-alone printer.
First, you can create a label from scratch right from the home screen by typing and modifying text, and by adding symbols and bar codes. When your label is ready, just press print. This is ideal for printing basic labels with simple text and symbols quickly and easily.
Another way to create labels right on the printer is to use pre-loaded “apps” for the most common label types. You’ll find these Label Type apps right on the home screen, beneath the text editing window here. You can also view additional Label Type apps on the next screen by pressing “More Label Types”.
The BBP®31 Sign and Label printer has Label Type apps for: Arc Flash Labels, Pipe Markers and arrow tape,Tags, Right-to-Know and WHMIS chemical labels, General Templates (which are used for safety signs, barcode labels and equipment labels), andQuick Label (which is a library of pre-created signs offered in multiple translations).
Some of these Label Type apps, like pipe markers, are set up as a guide to build a formatted label based on the information you provide.
Other Label Type apps are set up to contain pre-formatted “layouts” or “templates” where you choose a layout and simply fill in the fields with your data. The General Template, Quick Label, Arc Flash, and Right-to-Know and WHMIS chemical apps follow this approach.
The Quick Label app is a unique Label Type app. It’s a library of 900 –pre-created signs and labels that you can edit. Any layout you need is already created for you with all content filled out, though you can customize it to your specific needs.
